For architects & specifiers
Specify the entrance once, correctly.
Entrance hardware is usually specified late, by someone holding a product brochure. We'd rather be in the conversation while the opening is still a drawing.

The entrance is one of the few elements of a building that every occupant touches, every day. It is also disproportionately likely to be value-engineered into something that doesn't suit the traffic it will actually see. A door specified on price rather than duty cycle becomes a maintenance line item within two years.
We work with architects while it's still cheap to change things. That means confirming the opening suits the operator, that the escape route strategy and the door strategy agree with each other, and that the entrance can meet its accessibility obligations on the accessible route — without a redesign later.
Revolving doors in particular reward early involvement. They need structural provision, a decision about the adjacent pass door, and an honest conversation about throughput versus lobby area — none of which are easy to retrofit into a finished drawing set.
What matters to you
- Performance data, not brochures
- Opening and closing speeds, duty cycles, leaf weights and clear opening widths — the numbers you need to justify a specification.
- Accessible route compliance
- Guidance on operator selection and low-energy settings for doors sitting on an accessible route, referenced to NZS 4121.
- Escape route coordination
- Breakout leaves, fail-safe behaviour and fire alarm interfaces resolved against the fire strategy rather than after it.
- Early-stage feasibility
- Whether the opening you've drawn can take the operator you want, before it reaches tender.

Early elevations and a floor plan are enough for us to tell you whether the entrance works and what it needs.
