Revolving Doors
Revolving doors, specified properly or replaced properly.
Whether it's an opening on a drawing or a tired door that's been going round for twenty years, we can tell you what will actually work in that entrance.
A brand of FAAC Technologies
Why a revolving door, and why it has to be right
A revolving door is the only entrance that is always closed and always open at the same time. People keep moving through it, yet the building never opens a hole in its envelope. That's why you find them in tall buildings, hotels and transport terminals — places where a conventional entrance would either bleed conditioned air or become impossible to pull against the stack-effect draught.
They are also the least forgiving entrance to get wrong. Diameter determines throughput and whether someone with luggage or a pram can use it at all. Wing count changes both capacity and how enclosed it feels. Where the door sits relative to the structure has to be resolved early, because the provision for it is not something you add later.
That's the case for talking to us while the entrance is still a decision rather than a finished opening.
New build
Let us help specify it.
Send us the entrance at whatever stage it's at — a concept plan is enough to start. We'll work through the diameter you need for the traffic you're expecting, whether three or four wings suits the application, how the escape route strategy is satisfied, and what provision the structure needs to make.
You get the performance figures to justify the specification and an early warning if the opening as drawn won't take the door you have in mind.
Existing door
Replacing one that's had enough.
Older revolving doors reach a point where parts are no longer available, the safety systems don't meet current expectations, or the running costs and downtime stop making sense. Replacing the door doesn't necessarily mean rebuilding the entrance.
We'll come and look at what's installed, what the existing structural opening will accept, and what a replacement actually involves — including the honest answer if a different entrance type would serve you better.
The product
The FAAC AG4000.
Our revolving door platform, available across a wide span of diameters so the door can be matched to the entrance rather than the entrance compromised to suit the door.
How it can be set up
- Automatic
- The door turns on approach and parks when the entrance is idle — the standard mode for a busy public entrance.
- Semi-automatic with Adaptive Speed Control
- The door responds to the pace of the person using it rather than running at a fixed speed. Available in diameters up to 2400 mm.
- Power Assist with Speed & Parking Control
- Fitted as standard up to 2400 mm. The user pushes, the door assists — useful where you want a manual feel without the effort.
- Access control integration
- Single or bi-directional credential control, available in the 1800–2400 mm diameters.
Safety and security
- TÜV certified system with safety edges and laser sensors
- Emergency breakout with collapsible wings for rapid evacuation on an escape route
